First PC Release in the Modern Era
College Football 25 and 26 were console-exclusive on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. College Football 27 breaks that pattern with a simultaneous PC launch, marking a major platform expansion for the franchise. EA confirmed the PC version delivers the same gameplay modes, roster updates, online infrastructure, and cross-play support as console—there is no "lite" PC port with missing features.
PC also opens the door to the modding community for the first time in this generation of the series, though EA does not officially support mods. Ultrawide monitors, unlocked frame rates, and granular visual controls give PC players advantages in presentation and responsiveness that console hardware cannot match.
Early access applies on PC too: Deluxe Edition owners start July 6, and MVP+ Members who linked accounts appropriately begin July 2. Standard Edition PC players launch July 9. See our Early Access guide for exact times.
Where to Buy: EA App, Steam, and Epic
College Football 27 is available on PC through three storefronts:
- EA app (ea.com): EA's native launcher. Requires EA account linking. Supports EA Play Pro benefits where applicable.
- Steam: Full Steam integration including Steam Input for controller remapping, overlay, and friend invites. Requires linking EA and Steam accounts.
- Epic Games Store: Epic account with EA account linkage required for online play and Ultimate Team.
Edition bonuses—pre-order UT items, Dynasty Coach Points, Road to Glory Skill Points, and early access—are identical regardless of storefront. Choose based on where your friends play, existing library preferences, and launcher features like Steam Input for DualSense or third-party controllers.
All PC purchases require the EA app client installed for authentication even when bought through Steam or Epic. Plan for account linking before launch day to avoid delays.

Recommended Graphics & Performance Settings
EA's PC Deep Dive confirms extensive customization split between gameplay and cutscenes. Use these starting recommendations, then tune to your hardware:
- Display Mode: Fullscreen for lowest input latency and best performance. Borderless Window if you alt-tab frequently for streams or dual-monitor setups.
- Frame Rate: Cap at your monitor's refresh rate (120 or 144 Hz if supported) or unlock for high-refresh displays. Higher frame rates improve responsiveness for timing-based inputs like Timing Based Catching and the Tackle Stick.
- VSync: Off for competitive online play to reduce input lag. On if you experience screen tearing and prioritize visual smoothness over latency.
- Visual Presets: Start at High on recommended-spec hardware. Drop to Medium on minimum-spec GPUs. Separate cutscene quality can stay Ultra while gameplay runs High for better frame consistency.
- HDR: Enable on HDR-capable monitors for improved stadium lighting and Dynamic Weather presentation.
- Ultrawide: Supported natively—ideal for seeing more of the field in Coach Mode and pre-snap reads.
- Ray-Traced Lighting: Enable on RTX/RDNA 3+ hardware if you can maintain 60+ FPS. Disable for competitive online where frame stability matters more.
PC gameplay is identical to console, so the new defensive control overhaul and Custom Adjustments systems work the same—controller strongly recommended.
Cross-Play and Online on PC
College Football 27 supports cross-play between PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Your online head-to-head matches, Ultimate Team economy, and leaderboards span all three platform families. PC players matchmake into the same pools as console users—no segregated PC-only lobbies for standard modes.
Account linking is mandatory: connect your EA account to Steam, Epic, or EA app before going online. DualSense and Xbox controllers work on PC via native support or Steam Input. Keyboard and mouse are supported but the game is designed around controller layout; see our PC controls guide for mapping advice.
Pre-order bonuses and edition rewards apply identically on PC. Compare editions on our pre-order bonuses page before choosing a storefront.
