College Football Ultimate Team Season 1 Guide (July 2026)
Season 1 of College Football Ultimate Team (CUT) runs from Early Access through approximately August 19–20, 2026. Launch week delivered Countdown, Legends, Cornerstones, and Ranked — Countdown ended July 9. As of mid-July, the focus shifts to Field Pass levels, Scheme Champions, weekly program drops, and Ranked rewards while Dynasty and RTG players adjust to the July 11 progression patch.

Season 1 Timeline and Launch Week Calendar
Season 1 is CUT's inaugural live season in CFB 27. EA confirmed the season window from early access through mid-August, with the Field Pass capping around level 51 and a 90 OVR Scheme Champion as the headline tier reward. The first week alone follows a daily content cadence:

Post-Launch Season 1 Priorities (Mid-July)
With Countdown closed and the July 11 title update live, CUT players should prioritize:
- Season 1 Field Pass: Push toward level 51 for the 90 OVR Scheme Champion and Season 2 head-start token.
- Legends chemistry: Integrate Era Chemistry (Classic, Millennium, Modern) into competitive lineups.
- Cornerstone Clash: Upgrade your Welcome Pack Cornerstone and test chemistry in H2H.
- Ranked July session: Stack seasonal wins for alternate uniform paths tied to Road to CFP promotions.
Dynasty and RTG progression changes do not alter UT solos or store offers — but may free time previously spent debating offline MTX. Cross-link: updates hub.
Countdown Field Pass (July 2–9) — Archived
The Countdown event bridges early access and worldwide launch. Logging in daily grants free countdown lockers, and the Draft sub-event feeds Countdown Field Pass tiers with coins, packs, and exclusive player items unavailable after July 9. EA also released one new LTD card per day during early access — available for the full early access period, not just 24 hours.
Priority order for launch week: complete Deluxe Exclusive Early Access solos first (see our solos guide), then push Countdown Field Pass tiers before the July 9 cutoff. Standard Edition players who miss early access cannot retroactively earn Countdown rewards.
Legends Program — 107 Core Legends
The Legends program dropped July 7 with 107 Core Legend player items, including college icons like Ed Reed, Joe Montana, Marshawn Lynch, Chad Johnson, and Dan Marino. Each Legend carries an Era Chemistry tag — Classic, Millennium, or Modern — that affects lineup chemistry bonuses when paired with matching-era cards.
Legends support Dynamic Paths, upgrade tracks that evolve based on how you use the card in solos and H2H. Limited-Time Legend cards (86 OVR Richard Sherman, Drew Bledsoe) and Legend Champions (85 OVR DeMarcus Ware, Brian Bosworth) sit alongside the core pool. Cornerstones Welcome Pack and Cornerstone Clash
Cornerstones Vol. 1 went live July 8. Players receive a Welcome Pack to choose one of six upgradable Cornerstone players — the chemistry anchor for your first competitive roster. LTD Cornerstones Jayden Maiava and Andy Katzenmoyer headline the drop.
Upgrade your chosen Welcome Pack player and enter the new Cornerstone Clash H2H event, where your Cornerstone chemistry path is tested against other early-season lineups. Pre-order Deluxe buyers who picked a bound 83 OVR Cornerstone before June 16 can integrate that card into the same chemistry framework.
Sunday Spotlight, Scheme Champions, and Ranked
Sunday Spotlight debuted July 5 with Computer Retro Vol. 1. Bo Jackson headlines as the first Showcase Player (86 OVR LTD and 85 OVR Champion versions). Devin Hester tops the launch set at 88 OVR — the highest-rated Sunday Spotlight card at release.
Season 1 Field Pass progression unlocks Scheme Champions with double chemistry, dynamic upgrade paths, and All-Madden-tier rewards. Level 51 grants a 90 OVR Scheme Champion — the season's flagship grind target. Ranked H2H opens its July session on worldwide launch day (July 9), tying competitive wins to seasonal rewards and alternate uniform unlock paths mentioned in EA's Road to CFP crossover promotions.
